
Introduction
SDPPI (Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika) is a regulatory agency responsible for formulating, planning, and implementing standardization policies in the field of radio and communication. It has a public service function, which includes issuing licenses for the radio spectrum, including regulating interference and misalignment in the radio spectrum. SDPPI is an organization with wireless/communication testing and certification capabilities, including wireless product SDPPI certification.
Wireless products exported to Indonesia must pass the Indonesian SDPPI type certification and customs inspection. The General Directorate of Posts and Telecommunications (DGPT) of Indonesia has mandated since June 2009 that companies outside Indonesia are prohibited from holding type approval certificates.

7. To apply for Indonesian certification, it is necessary to provide a local Indonesian company authorized by the overseas manufacturer as the certificate holder. Local companies in Indonesia allow certificate holders to be local agents of manufacturers, local wholesalers, or local brokers. (Local testing is required in Indonesia).

The products eligible for SDPPI exemption mainly include GPS terminals, servers, network switching devices, keyless systems, wireless charging devices, etc.
The information required to apply for an exemption letter mainly includes:
1. An application form signed and stamped by a genuine importer or manufacturer;
2. Product manual;
3. Internal and external photos;
4. Label photos;
5. User manual.
Notes on Exemption Letter
The holder of this exemption letter can be the importer, manufacturer, or factory, but it is recommended to apply for the relevant exemption letter in the name of a local importer in Indonesia;
2. The validity period of this exemption letter is 1 year, and if it expires, a new application is required;
3. Applying for an exemption letter usually takes 1-2 weeks;
4. All documents need to be reviewed without submitting samples.
