CSA, also known as the Canadian Standards Association, was founded in 1919 and is the first non-profit organization in Canada dedicated to developing industrial standards. Electronic and electrical products sold in the North American market require safety certification. Currently, CSA is the largest security certification body in Canada and one of the most renowned security certification bodies in the world. It can provide safety certification for all types of products in the fields of machinery, building materials, electrical appliances, computer equipment, office equipment, environmental protection, medical fire safety, sports and entertainment. CSA has provided certification services to thousands of manufacturers worldwide, with billions of products bearing the CSA logo sold annually in the North American market.

Before 1992, products certified by CSA could only be sold in the Canadian market, and in order to enter the US market, products must also obtain relevant certifications in the United States. CSA International has been recognized by the US federal government as a nationally accredited testing laboratory. This means that your products can be tested and certified according to Canadian and American standards, while ensuring that your certification is recognized by federal, state, provincial, and local governments.

Application Process

1. Complete the preliminary application form and submit it to CSA along with all relevant product manuals and technical data, including all electrical components and plastic materials;

2. CSA will determine the certification fee based on the specific situation of the product, and then notify the applying company by fax;

3. After confirmation by the applying company, the formal application form and notification letter will be sent, which includes the following requirements:

(1) After the formal application form is signed, the authentication fee (payable in RMB) will be wired to the office.

(2) Send the test sample to the designated location according to the notification.

4. The designated laboratory will carry out certification work on time.

5. After the certification test is completed, a preliminary report will be sent to the applying company, detailing the following:

(1) How to improve the product structure to meet the standards

(2) Other materials to be used to complete the certification report

(3) Please apply for the content of the company's simplified certification record draft

(4) Marks required for CSA certification and methods to obtain them

(5) Factory testing required for the product

6. CSA will evaluate the response of the applicant company to the fifth item above;

7. At the same time, CSA will prepare a certification report for product production reference and tracking inspection

8. At this stage, in some cases, CSA needs to conduct an initial factory evaluation, abbreviated as IFE, at the factory.

9. Finally, CSA will issue a certificate of conformity along with the certification records, authorizing the applying company to add the CSA certification mark to other products.

10. The applying company needs to sign a service agreement with CSA to indicate that both parties agree that CSA will conduct product tracking and inspection at the factory. The applying company needs to pay an annual fee to maintain the agreement.
