What is Oudai

The full name of the European Authorized Representative refers to a natural or legal person designated by a manufacturer located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including the EU and EFTA. The natural or legal person may represent manufacturers outside the EEA to perform specific duties required by EU directives and laws for the manufacturer.

When there are any issues with customs clearance for products exported from outside the European Union, the European representative will assist the exporter in communicating with customs and resolving the problem. Customs usually also requires communication with the exporter's European representative. When any problems arise during the sales process of the exporter's products in the EU region, it is also the European representative who assists in solving the problem. Therefore, European agents bear certain risks, and the higher the risk of exporting products, the higher the risk borne by European agents

EU Market Regulation Regulations

The EU Market Regulation 2019/1020, also known as REGULATION (EU) 2019/1020 of THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL, will come into effect on July 16, 2021.

If the product sold by the customer bears the CE mark and is manufactured outside the European Union, it is necessary to ensure the following before July 16, 2021:

1. This type of product has a responsible person in the European Union;

2. Products with the CE mark are labeled with the information of the responsible person.

After July 16, 2021, it is illegal to sell goods with the CE mark in the European Union without an EU representative.

What product needs to be made on behalf of Europe

Except for medical devices, civilian explosives, and certain elevators and cable car devices, the sale of goods with the CE mark must have a responsible person located in the European Union (i.e. EU representative).

The product categories include: toys, gas stoves (appliances), electronic and electrical products controlled by electromagnetic compatibility instructions, personal protective equipment, explosion-proof products, measuring and testing equipment, non automatic weighing equipment, ships, simple pressure vessels, energy-saving related products, electrical and electrical products controlled by low-voltage instructions, radio equipment, mechanical equipment, equipment that may generate noise, pressure equipment, electronic and electrical products, and harmful substances in equipment.
