Get to know Hi Res certification
Hi Res, also known as High Resolution Audio, is not unfamiliar to headphone enthusiasts. Hi Res Audio is a high-quality audio product design standard proposed and defined by Sony, and developed by JAS (Japan Audio Association) and CEA (Consumer Electronics Association). The purpose of Hi Res audio is to express the ultimate quality of music and reproduce the original sound, obtaining a true feeling of the live atmosphere of the original singer or performer performing live. And when measuring the resolution of digital signal records, the higher the resolution, the clearer the image. Similarly, digital audio also has its "resolution" because digital signals cannot record linear audio like analog signals, and can only make the audio curve closer to linearity. Hi Res is a quantitative threshold for the degree of linear reduction. The so-called 'lossless music' that we commonly encounter is based on CD transcription, and the audio sampling rate specified by CD is only 44.1KHz, with a bit depth of 16 bits, which is the highest level of CD audio. And audio sources that can reach Hi Res level often have a sampling rate higher than 44.1KHz and a bit depth of over 24bit. According to this idea, Hi Res level audio sources can bring richer music details than CDs. It is precisely because Hi Res can bring sound quality beyond CD level that it is revered as a faith by music enthusiasts and a large number of headphone fans.

Hi Res certification process
1. Product compliance testing
The product must meet the technical requirements of Hi Res:
Microphone response performance: 40 kHz or higher during recording
Amplification performance: 40 kHz or higher
Speaker and headphone performance: 40 kHz or higher
(1) Recording format: capable of recording in formats of 96kHz/24bit or higher
(2) I/O (interface): Input/output interface with performance of 96kHz/24bit or higher
(3) Decoding: The file playability is 96kHz/24bit or higher (both FLAC and WAV are required)
(For self recording devices, the minimum requirement is FLAC or WAV files)
(4) Digital signal processing: DSP processing at 96kHz/24bit or above
(5) D/A conversion: 96 kHz/24 bit or higher analog-to-digital conversion processing
2. Applicant Information Submission
Applicants should submit their information at the beginning of the application process;
3. Sign Confidentiality Agreement (NDA)
Signed a Non disclosure Agreement (NDA) confidentiality agreement with JAS Japan;
4. Submit due diligence inspection report
5. Video interview

*Complete all processes (including product compliance testing) within 4-7 weeks
Hi Res Audio is a high-quality audio product design standard developed by JAS (Japan Audio Association) and CEA (Consumer Electronics Association). The Hi Res Audio logo is currently only for use by JAS members and will be provided to CEA member companies through a license agreement with JAS for product promotion, advertising, and promotional activities. This means it's not just a simple certification mark. This is a music system that includes music resource monitoring devices within the association (including portable players, headphones, earplugs, ear amplifiers, speakers, and a series of other products).
More and more products have obtained Hi Res certification, and Hi Res certification has become an essential certification mark for high-end audio equipment. CEA and logo authorized users agree to comply with the HRA product guidelines and performance requirements specified by JAS. Hi Res provides portable audio and video with full range and high bitrate capabilities. The addition of Hi Res label to headphone products not only represents an ultra-high listening experience, but also represents the industry's unanimous recognition of their headphone products in terms of quality and sound quality, and is one of the symbols of whether a headphone has reached high-end.
