Introduction

The UAE TRA is the regulatory body for radio and telecommunications communications, and according to TRA regulations, all radio and communication equipment sold to the UAE market must obtain a model license. The certification applicant must be a local or foreign company, but the applicant must be registered in TRA to supply in the UAE. The validity period of this license is 5 years, and NTEK can apply for it on behalf of you.

Applicable product scope

At present, the scope of mandatory product qualification certification control mainly involves IT and home appliance products, and other categories of products are gradually being included, such as mobile phones, tablets, Bluetooth headphones, Bluetooth speakers, projectors, wireless chargers, massage instruments, and other products;

Application Materials

1.  Authorization Letter；

2. TRA application form;

3.  Declaration of Conformity；

4. Company business license and contact information;

5. Product manual (including technical specifications such as product parameters, frequency, frequency range, and power);

6. RF test report and certificate, product images;

7. Samples;

Regulatory updates

The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) of the United Arab Emirates issued a notice on June 17, 2020 regarding new labeling requirements for TRA certified products: TRA Conformity Declaration Card (Type Approval System Conformity Mark).

This change will affect all equipment that will be imported into the UAE, and equipment already sold in the market does not need to be changed.

Example of TRA Compliance Declaration Card:

-The product should include the product declaration card specified above.

-Labels can be labeled in black and white.

-The QR code should include the basic information shown in the middle box.

-TA RTTE refers to the type approval certificate number.

-Type refers to the type of device, such as mobile phones, tablets, etc.
