Introduction

The ICC certification in the Philippines was issued on August 17, 2007 by the Product Standards Service (BPS) of the Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines, which issued the 2007 series of mandatory Philippine national standards for audio, video, and similar electrical appliances.

The ICC system is applicable to imported goods. For imported products covered by mandatory Philippine National Standards (PNS), after evaluation by the Philippine Product Standards Service (BPS) that meet the corresponding Philippine National Standards or internationally accepted foreign standards, BPS will issue an ICC license to the importer of the product, allowing them to use the ICC logo. Imported products must undergo sampling testing. In addition, the Philippine Sea will conduct random market sampling inspections to ensure that imported goods meet the corresponding PS standard requirements.

Applicable product scope

The Philippines has implemented mandatory certification for 85 product lines that have an impact on health, life safety, and have a negative impact on the environment during use, including electrical equipment/products, household appliances, building materials, safety matches, fire extinguishers, automobiles, petroleum products, aerosols, etc.

ICC Mandatory Certification List

1. Household appliances (air conditioning, electric fans, immersion water heaters, kitchen appliances (mixers, egg beaters, etc.), refrigerators, washing machines, etc.)

2. Lighting fixtures and related products (fluorescent lamps, incandescent lamps, lamp holders, Christmas lights/light strings, starters, etc.)

3. Wiring devices (circuit breakers, metal wire junction boxes, plugs and sockets, PVC tape, switches)

4. Wire and cable (PVC flexible wire, thermoplastic wire and cable)

5. Mechanical/building materials (cement, steel pipes, ceramic tiles, iron sheets, flat glass, water pipes, fittings, urinals, bathtubs, water tanks, washbasins, wire)

6. Chemical and other products (fire extinguishers, lighters, single chairs/stools, brake fluid, gas stoves, vehicle inner tubes, lead-acid batteries, matches, seat belts (seat belts) (windshield, rear lights, side seats, car tires)
