Introduction

The full name of SRRC is State Radio Regulation Committee, also known as the State Radio Regulatory Commission. In 1998, the National Radio Monitoring Center and the National Radio Spectrum Management Center merged to form the China National Radio Monitoring Center.

In 1999, the Chinese government established special frequency ranges for different types of radio transmission equipment, and not all frequencies were legally used in China. All radio transmission equipment sold or used in China will be designated with different frequencies. In addition, applicants must pay attention to the prescribed scope of certain wireless transmission equipment, not only applying for "wireless model approval certification", but also applying for China Compulsory Certification (CCC) and/or Network Access Permit (MII) approval.

SRRC certification (also known as SRMC certification) can be understood as radio model approval certification.

Certification significance

In order to strengthen the management of imported and produced radio transmission equipment, all radio transmission equipment exported to the People's Republic of China or produced (including trial production) within the territory of the People's Republic of China must hold a "Radio Transmission Equipment Model Approval Certificate" issued by the State Radio Regulation Committee (SRRC) after its emission characteristics have been approved, and the model approval code (CMIIT ID) must be indicated on the label of the factory equipment before it can be put on the market for sale. Simply put, only radio transmission equipment with China's radio transmission equipment model approval code can be sold and used domestically in China.

At present, some e-commerce platforms have issued requirements for SRRC certification for related products. Please pay attention to this and avoid being taken down in the future due to failure to provide SRRC certification. In addition, the national and local inspections for model approval and certification will become increasingly strict in the future! Several companies have reported being spot checked by relevant departments.

Micro power (short-range) wireless devices do not require SRRC certification, such as toy based 27MHz and 40MHz remote-controlled airplanes and remote-controlled cars, which do not need to apply for radio model approval certification. However, it is still necessary to pay attention to the requirements of the national standard for electric toys, including Bluetooth and WIFI technology for toy products.

Certification Fee

Considering that the SRRC testing fee has been cancelled, companies can apply for it free of charge. Due to the complex application process, companies should prepare their applications in advance. Conducting pre testing work can greatly increase the pass rate of applications! To avoid any additional costs or delays in obtaining certification due to failed testing in the future.

The issue of SRRC certification fees and the interpretation of SRRC's free policy

According to the latest policy, SRRC certification is free of charge. After the product is tested and approved, the SRRC certificate can be obtained. If the test results are not qualified, additional testing fees need to be paid. Once the sample test results are not qualified, it is necessary to reapply: the enterprise submits a model certification application - the national agency officially accepts it - the enterprise pays a deposit to the designated testing agency - product testing. This will significantly prolong the certification cycle and affect the product's launch.

Simply put, although the new policy application is free, the application period cannot be guaranteed as before. Entrusting testing and certification agencies to pay commission service fees to help clients obtain SRRC certificates in the shortest possible time.

SRRC certification testing project

The detection content varies depending on the emission frequency of the product. The main detection items include power, spectrum range, frequency tolerance, bandwidth, stray radiation, etc.

1. The tested equipment model should include testing procedures, methods, standards, conditions, testing connection diagrams, dedicated testing attachments, and the most recent testing report (copies or photocopies are acceptable)

If the transmission port of the tested device belongs to a non-standard interface, it is necessary to provide the test connection cable of the tested device and the cable attenuation value text or chart with the company seal as the basis

If necessary, the applying unit must send engineering and technical personnel to cooperate with the testing

4. It is recommended that companies conduct pre testing on samples before sending them for inspection to increase the pass rate of testing!

SRRC Certificate Cycle

SRRC certificate cycle: about 8 weeks; Validity period: Five years

Time schedule and precautions for SRRC certification application

·There will be market supervision spot checks, but no factory inspections

·From December 4th, 2018 to January 31st, 2019, during the self inspection stage (those who do not have a model approval certificate can apply to the corresponding testing institution for processing)

·The first round of spot checks was conducted from February 1, 2019 to March 31, 2019. (Products that do not meet the qualifications can be placed on the shelves after obtaining the qualifications.).

·On February 1, 2019, for the configuration of single item qualification management in the key category system, a single item model calibration certificate needs to be submitted in the VC system when updating.
