Basic Introduction

According to Kenyan government regulations, importers of companies must obtain a Certificate of Conformity (COC) before they can handle customs clearance procedures with Kenyan customs. After completing the inspection, the original COC certificate will be sent to the exporter by express delivery. If you need to send it directly to the importer or other person, please specify in the remarks column of this application form.

Fill out this application form and its accompanying pages truthfully, correctly, and completely, including relevant HS codes, ICS codes, and other information. It is the basic responsibility of the applicant to correctly fill in the product description and HS code. If the description and/or HS code of the product are not filled in correctly, it will result in on-site inspection/testing discrepancies, making it impossible to issue a COC. The applicant will still bear the relevant costs and leave a bad credit record. Once the goods are shipped to Kenya, they will also be required to rectify and fined by the Kenyan management department.

Market access requirements

The Kenyan Bureau of Standards (KEBS) began implementing the Pre Export Standard Compliance Verification Scheme (PVoC) on September 29, 2005. Products in the PVoC catalog must obtain a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) before shipment and provide it to Kenyan customs upon arrival, otherwise they will not be able to enter the country. If there is no special case of CoC, KEBS may decide to inspect the batch of goods and impose a fine.

Three application methods

⑴ One time customs clearance certificate: Test for 1-2 weeks (if there is an ISO9001 certificate, internal inspection report does not need to be tested), apply for customs clearance certificate within 3-5 working days. Half day inspection

Directly apply for customs clearance and inspection fee: FOB x 0.475% ≥ 180 USD

⑵ Registration before customs clearance: Time: 1-2 weeks for testing, 1-2 weeks for applying for registration certificate, 3-5 working days for applying for customs clearance certificate, and half a day for inspection. Within 15 models, the cost is 375 USD, and if it exceeds 20 USD per model. The registration certificate is valid for one year. (3) Formal recognition certificate mode

Increase factory inspections, strict inspection will be carried out for initial shipments, and random inspections will be conducted thereafter All products produced by the company need to be tested
